Atrium Attractions
My team developed the interior attractions for The Atrium, located inside the ICON at the heart of the resort core. We developed an extreme sports-themed narrative and related extreme sports-themed activities. This highly technical project required integration of the latest in cutting edge technology for extreme games.
Our narrative and designs had to include the client’s OVERALL GOAL that all attractions (including those located outside our purview) break world records wherever possible. So we had to consider parameters like speed (world’s fastest), length (world’s longest), height (world’s highest), etc. and make sure we accommodated the design wherever possible.
In addition to the narrative and technical challenges, the design included floor plan development, attraction development and concept art. We also created staff and special entertainment costume design, always mindful of the clients aesthetics and regional clothing attire. For show attire, we looked at the most cutting edge wearable tech for garments like embedded LED systems that could be synced with and integrated into the show narrative.
Design also included back of house requirements, safety parameters, ticketing strategies, media band tech, guest flow and feasibility studies. My team consisted of a senior creative director, producer, architects, planners, 2D & 3D artists, a graphic designer, a writer and technical advisors.
Another tech heavy project, I researched virtual queues, RFID media band technology and integration of that tech with Guest friction points: ticketing, lockers, food and beverage, queue alerts/updates, etc.
While I cannot share any of the project images that have not been released, I can share designs (some designed by others) of the resort core and overall project.
