{PROJECT} Toy Story 2 Activity Center

{ROLE} Sr. Producer / Art Director

{COMPANY} Engineering Animation. Inc. – Developer

{CLIENT} Disney / Buena Vista Games – Publisher

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you know that Toy Story 2 is a 3D comedy adventure film produced by Pixar Animation Studios and released by Walt Disney Pictures.

Getting to work on the game Toy Story 2 was a dream come true for me. After all, the original movie, Toy Story, was the reason I got into game development in the first place. I served as both Art Director and Producer on this product and oversaw a staff of both 2D & 3D artists, texture artists, 3D Animators, and several C++ engineers. It was developed on the same game engine that we used to create A Bugs Life Activity Center. I also managed the client (Disney) relationship, budget and contract negotiations.

The game was created simultaneously with the movie production, and would have a co-release, so we had to keep the story line under wraps. It’s a challenge to develop a video game when you are receiving critical information piecemeal from the Publisher. For that reason, many of the newer characters like Zurg, Jessie and the Prospector, did not appear in the game at much length.

Buzz, Woody, and the rest of the toys are back! Join in the hilarious fun of Toy Story 2 through a variety of game and activities with something for everyone. Packed full of arcade games (Cone Chaos, Toy Shelf Showdown & Luggage Lunacy), a strategy game to challenge your wits (Critter Corral), and creative activities (Printing Press & Create-a-Comic)- this Activity Center lets your imagination run wild!
