On the publishing side of the video game industry, I have partnered with marketing teams to create strategy planning and product pitches based on their (branded) content, channels, target audience, budget and desired platforms – turning their requirements into an RFP (Request for Proposal) to send out to Developers for bids. In addition, I evaluated Developers, created and negotiated contracts, managed and identified development risks, and created Milestone payment schedules. I also have experience with licensing and localization.
I am an expert at project management software including: Basecamp, Microsoft Project, Word, and Excel. I have used a variety of source control software and QA management systems.
I have managed both 2D & 3D production pipelines from RFP to completion. This includes identifying the best technology or game engine based on proposed feature sets as specified by the RFP, as well as recommendations on how to staff it, i.e. internal, hiring and/or outsourcing. I can manage Publishers expectations, scope creep, budgets and schedules. I am a cheerleader and mentor to my Development team, pushing them towards excellence, while helping them find balance to avoid burnout.
I have experience creating concept art for character and environments (both branded and new), story boarding, writing V.O. scripts, technical and game design documents. I am an expert at almost the entire Adobe CS Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, In-Design, Flash (now Animation Studio) After Effects and Premiere Pro. I have produced voice over sessions and have managed audio and music design. I’m a big fan of postmortem discussions to get a team “tuned up” for the next project.
